One day a month, Arvada HS will have a Blended Learning day. Students do not have regular classes on a Blended Learning day, but it is NOT a day off.
On January 31, all students behind on their graduation capstone project and/or failing one or more classes are required to attend. Counselors will also offer a PSAT/SAT practice session for those who desire this help.
Under the new Graduation Requirements, students are required to complete 100 hours of internship, mentorship, job shadow, and community service hours outside of the normal school day over their 4-year high school career. Students will use blended learning days to work on lessons and activities outside the building (projects; online lessons; and on their capstone portfolio) as well as their internship, mentorship, job shadow, and/or community service hours required to fulfill the new graduation requirements. The modified schedule will allow students to complete requirements without disrupting normally scheduled days.
