Welcome to the 2022-23 school year!

Welcome Back Bulldogs and Bulldog families,

We are very excited to start another year at Arvada High School! 9th graders begin the school year on August 16th. All other graders will start on August 17th.

Last year we made great gains at AHS; we increased our course pass rate, our attendance rate improved, the number of students going to college increased by over 20%, and we were able to re-establish our cultural values of respect, responsibility, trust, collaboration, relationships and empowerment after the pandemic years.  We are dedicated to improving our academic performance and further establishing a culture focused on learning and the development of the whole child.

Therefore, we are making some policy changes this year to better meet the needs of our community. Our school accountability committee, in cooperation with our feeder schools, has approved a closed campus for lunch for our 9th grade students and a new dress code policy for all grades that will go into effect for the 22-23 school year. These policies enhance a culture of learning and allow for individual expression while embracing our core values of trust and responsibility.  This year, we will also continue our cell phone policy which has increased student engagement in the classroom.

Here are the items (school supplies) we want students to have daily at school:  backpack with school issued chromebook, a lanyard attached to their backpack (where they will keep their school ID), and writing utensils.

Please be sure you complete your free and reduced lunch application before the first day of school. If you are approved for free and reduced lunch all course fees, bus fees, athletic fees and field trip fees are waived. Optional fees (like a yearbook purchase) and fines (like lost textbooks) are not waived.  Go here to complete the on-line application:  At the end of the application you will be asked to share your information, please click yes. Your application status will only be shared with Arvada High School and we can’t waive anything other than meal fees unless you choose to share the information with us.  You will need your student’s ID number to complete the application. You can also view your student’s fee statement and make payments on our home page at:, click family and select pay fees. If you have a hard time with this application please call the school’s main phone number (303-982-0162) and we can help.

We will hold in-person registration for all families on Tuesday, August 9th. We are asking 9th and 10th grade families to come between 8:00 am and 11:00 am. 11th and 12th grade families should come between noon and 3:00 pm.  Students can receive a copy of their schedule on August 9th after their guardians have updated contact information, signed agreements and applied for the free/reduced lunch program or paid fees. Click here for a registration checklist.

Fall sports begin on August 8th. If your student is interested in playing football, boys’ soccer, boys’ tennis, volleyball, softball or cross country, they need to complete online registration at Contact our athletic director, Dan Quaratino, at 303-982-5721 with questions.
