Arvada High School

Weekly News for Nov. 14, 2023

Upcoming Events:

News and Reminders:

  • The Board of Education will be holding Town Hall meetings so families can get to know their area representative, learn about the Board’s goals and understand their roles in districtwide initiatives. The Arvada Area meeting will be Nov. 29 at 5:00 pm with Dr. Danielle Varda. Everyone is welcome.

  • We have many families with unpaid fees such as class fees, athletic fees or bus fees which will become fines. (Check your student's fees here.) If you have not yet applied to have fees waived through the Free Meals application, please do so as soon as possible. Remember to answer "Yes" when asked if the information can be shared with the school so that we can waive the fees. If you have questions, contact our Financial Secretary, Natalia DiMarco at 303-982-0117, or [email protected].

  • Empty Bowls, our annual fundraiser for the Community Table Food Bank, is scheduled for Nov. 30 at 5:00 pm. This is always an awesome community evening to raise awareness about hunger in our community.

  • Invite your friends and neighbors with middle school students to join us for Future Bulldog Night on Dec. 6 at 5:00 pm. This is a great opportunity to learn what makes Arvada High School special.

From the Family Resource Center:

  • The resource center will be distributing Thanksgiving Food Boxes shortly before Thanksgiving Break. Sign up to reserve a food box here (Spanish version). Boxes will be distributed on Friday, Nov. 17 from 3:45 - 6:00 pm and on Saturday, Nov. 18 from 8:00 - 11:00 am. If neither of these times work for you, please contact Family Engagement Liaison Audrey Smallcanyon at 303-982-8916 by Wednesday, November 15th to discuss other arrangements.

  • The City of Arvada would appreciate you input via their Housing Survey (Spanish version). The survey will collect information about Arvada's housing market, including the needs of workers, communters and residents. The survey is open until Nov. 24.

From the Health Room:

  • The Jeffco Substance Prevention team is presenting a series of Family Communication Workshops in partnership with Denver Family Therapy.  Sessions are on Saturdays and Tuesdays at Lakewood High School. See this flyer for more information.

  • Need to get up-to-date with your student's immunizations?  This flyer has information about low-cost immunizations for children and teens.
